MEdL Montessori Educator Option

The inaugural intake for this option started in August 2021.  Focused on Montessori trained teachers, the program featured:

  • a part-time, distance-based cohort delivery model
  • support for educators working full-time
  • job embedded learning experiences tailored for Montessori educators
  • engagement in leadership, appreciative inquiry and research methodological scholarship
  • a focus on issues of diversity and social justice
  • reflective inquiry
  • applied project or data-driven thesis work
  • transfer credit on approved Montessori teacher training

Applications are accepted starting October 1, 2022.

Admission Requirements

  • MEdL admission requirements apply, including the completion of an undergraduate degree, and:
    • Completion (or near completion) of an approved AMI Primary or Elementary Diploma or MACTE accredited Elementary or Secondary I and II diplomas
    • Teaching Accreditation in BC or equivalent
