Julia's Resume (including work experience, presentations, publications).
Julia is a professor in undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs as well as a part-time educational technologist for the VIU Faculty of Education. She has a broad instructional background--teaching students from grade 6 to adult in both traditional and non-traditional settings. Her subject area experience includes English, social studies, math, science, and Spanish courses up to grades 11/12. Before joining VIU, she developed the Distributed Learning Program at Gulf Islands Secondary (SD 64, BC, Canada).
Julia has always had a passionate interest in how technology can improve learning, teaching, & society. Currently, she supports both Education students and faculty in the use of educational technologies. Julia serves as the Chair of the Centre for Education & CyberHumanity, and as a member of the VIU Research Ethics Board. She supervises masters students in the VIU Master of Education (Leadership) program particularly around the areas of privacy, technology, social media, and digital professionalism.
