Why are the courses in a short six-week format?

The short, six-week concentrations enable students to quickly apply learning, theories and strategies to specific topics relevant to distance learning and student success. Each course builds on the previous, providing graduates with a strong practical application of tools and techniques. The time frame also supports practicing teachers and working professionals with a manageable course schedule.

Do you offer a cohort model?

The program engages a small cohort model per annual intake.

Why do you have the largest number of courses of all DL certificate and diploma courses in BC?

Rather than longer, 5 credit courses, our timetable provides short, 3 credit, courses that support more topics over a condensed timeframe.

I am from another province. Can I apply to take this program?

Yes, residents of any Canadian province are encouraged to apply.

What will the weekly time commitment for the program?

The program requires approximately 6-8 hours of practical, lecture and lab time per week, per course.

What kind of computer do I need to have to allow me to participate?

Students can participate using any Macintosh, iOS or PC device with a reliable Internet connection.

I don't hold a Bachelor of Education degree, can I take your program?

Applicants to the program may hold a B.Ed or a degree in any discipline from an accredited university along with current teaching experience.

Do I need BC teacher certification?

On graduation, will BC teachers in the public system qualify for TQS salary increments?
