Scenes from the Nanaimo Indian Hospital is a community-engaged theatre research project that embraces and shares local Indigenous languages, traditions and stories. This research responds to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission - Section 14 Calls to Action that centres the urgency of infrastructural support and funding required to strengthen local community-based Indigenous language reawakening/revitalization activities. This project supports local, global and national communities interested in language reawakening and engages Indigenous community members, actors and audience members, with an empowering, artistic outlet.
